Revote, While Awaiting KPU’s Official Results

Jayapura – The Chairman of Mandala Trikora for Papua Province, Ali Kabiay, has called on all levels of society in Papua to help maintain public security and order following the recent revote (PSU) held in the province.

Kabiay emphasized that a peaceful and stable atmosphere is essential for the democratic process to move forward. He urged the public not to be easily provoked by divisive issues, especially as the Papua Provincial General Elections Commission (KPU) is in the process of finalizing and announcing the official vote count.

“Let’s preserve peace together. We must fully trust the KPU to carry out its duties in counting and finalizing the election results in accordance with existing regulations,” Kabiay stated.

He also highlighted the important role of all parties—including traditional leaders, religious figures, youth, and community members—in setting a positive example and promoting a safe and harmonious environment.

“Papua is our shared home. Differences in political choices should not divide us. We must stay united to safeguard stability so that development and prosperity can continue,” he added.

Kabiay expressed his hope that all parties will accept the vote count results with an open heart. If there are disputes or objections, he encouraged resolving them through legal channels rather than through actions that could harm the community.

As of the time of reporting, the Papua Provincial KPU is still in the process of recapitulating the PSU vote results, under tight security provided by police and military personnel to ensure that the electoral process continues safely, orderly, and smoothly.
