NABIRE, CENTRAL PAPUA – The Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 has deployed a joint team to pursue 19 inmates who escaped from Class IIB Prison in Nabire, including 11 individuals suspected to be affiliated with the Armed Criminal Group (Kelompok Kriminal Bersenjata or KKB).
The Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, emphasized that an intensive manhunt is underway in coordination with the Central Papua Police and other related agencies. “We will not tolerate this act of violence. All escaped inmates will be dealt with firmly in accordance with the law,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, urged residents in Nabire and surrounding areas to remain calm but vigilant. He encouraged the public to report any information regarding the whereabouts of the fugitives, especially those linked to the KKB.
“If you see any suspicious activity, please report it to the nearest security forces or contact the national police hotline,” he said.
The Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 has reinforced security measures across Central Papua to ensure public safety and maintain order while the search continues.
