Mimika – The atmosphere at the Timika Sector Post was more vibrant on Wednesday (February 5, 2025), as the Psychology Team of Subsatgas Ban Ops Damai Cartenz-2025 conducted Psychological Training and Mental Strengthening. This training was designed to build mental resilience and camaraderie among personnel stationed in the operational area.
Led by IPDA Amelia Mega Kartika Kawilarang, S.Psi., and IPDA Moh. Arsyad Hafid Affandy, S.Psi., the event involved all Ops Damai Cartenz-2025 personnel. Participants did not only learn theoretical aspects but also engaged in various simulations emphasizing teamwork, focus, and mental endurance.
One of the most engaging sessions was the challenge of arranging straws into a triangular shape. While it seemed simple, the task required excellent coordination among team members. Another activity involved a chopstick relay to transfer balls, testing patience and concentration.
The team spirit grew even stronger when participants were asked to create their own team chants. Enthusiastic voices echoed throughout the post, reinforcing the sense of brotherhood and mutual trust.
The training concluded with a reflection session where each personnel member wrote optimistic messages and advice for their commanders and loved ones. These words were not just expressions but real manifestations of the moral support they cultivated together.
IPDA Amelia Mega Kartika Kawilarang emphasized the crucial role of this program in maintaining personnel’s psychological stability and mental readiness.
“Mental health is the foundation of carrying out duties effectively. With a strong spirit, every personnel member can better tackle challenges in the field,” she stated.
Meanwhile, Waka Ops Damai Cartenz-2025, Kombes Pol. Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., stressed that this training was part of a continuous strategy to maintain personnel readiness.
“We want to ensure that they are not only physically prepared but also possess the mental strength to handle various situations,” he remarked.
With this training, Ops Damai Cartenz-2025 personnel are expected to be more resilient, united, and motivated in safeguarding security in the Papua region.
