Mimika- Kalenak Murib (KM), a member of the Puncak Armed Criminal Group (KKB) was named a suspect in the murder of two motorcycle taxi drivers in Weni Village, Mageabume District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua.
Head of Operations (Kaops) Damai Cartenz Brigadier General Pol Faizal Ramadhani and Deputy Chief of Papua Police said that the determination of the suspect was based on the results of examining two existing pieces of evidence.
“We have identified the suspect, it is the KKB group in Sinak, its initials are KM,” he said.
After this incident, said Brigadier General Faizal, the TNI-Polri took steps to anticipate security disturbances ahead of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections tomorrow.
“Of course we have anticipated several things. “But what is certain is that we are in the process of securing the regional elections,” he said.
It is known that previously two motorcycle taxi drivers, namely Imran and Asrun Eko Putra, who were residents from Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi, were shot and hacked to death.
Before being killed, the second victim was taking passengers from Puncak Jaya to Mulia, Puncak on Thursday, November 21 2024 until they were finally intercepted by KKB members and killed.
