Jayapura – The condition of PT Inti Bangun Sejahtera (IBS) BTS Tower project workers who were victims of hostage-taking by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Okbab District, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua Mountain Province is currently with the community. This was also confirmed by the Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri, S.I.K. when interviewed, Saturday (5/13) night.
The Kapolda said that the four victims had received health services at the Puskesmas.
“The last update this afternoon, the bleeding has stopped. We hope that tonight the District Chief can arrive in Okbab village. So that we can get more communication regarding the information obtained that the three victims are already with the community. There is no more violence or persecution committed by the group, “said the Kapolda.
Inspector General Fakhiri also hopes that the District Head will be able to establish communication with the perpetrators of the persecution of the three victims. As well as being able to meet with one of the employees who is a native Papuan who had avoided the incident.
“So that information will become material for the security forces to take steps to save the three victims including the indigenous Papuan people who avoided the violence,” he said.
The Kapolda explained that previously there were four people who were held hostage, where three people were migrants who were stabbed and 1 other person was a native Papuan and was in good condition.
“One had time to secure himself to the health center, the second was detained, these two were approached by community leaders and pastors. Finally handed over to them and taken to the health center for treatment,” added the Kapolda.
Furthermore, where the information was conveyed by the community to the Police Chief and Deputy Regent in Oksibil. The Kapolda has also confirmed the information.
“I will also coordinate with PT. IBS for how to solve the problem, including what they demand,” concluded the Papua Police Chief.
