Mimika – Crimes committed by members of the armed criminal group (KKB) led by Egianus Kogoya with the initials Y.L. which is very disturbing to the people and security forces in Papua. This group is known for its brutal acts of violence and acts of terror. Some of the criminal acts committed by this group were very detrimental to society and also the private sector, Tuesday (11/04/2023).
In early 2021, Y.L. allegedly involved in the arson of Camp Dollarossa which burned the workers’ quarters. Then on February 2, 2021, the suspect Y.L was also involved in a shooting action with TNI Yonif Raider 700 troops in the Mapenduma District. This action adds to the list of crimes committed by the group.
On June 7, 2022, Y.L. again committed a criminal act by shooting the SAM AIR PK-SMG aircraft at Kenyam Airport, Nduga Regency. This action seriously endangers the safety of passengers and aircraft crew.
Furthermore, in early 2023, Y.L. was again involved in the action of threatening 15 Puskesmas workers in the Paro district. The threat created fear and concern for workers and the local community.
“On February 7, 2023, the action of burning an airplane and taking hostage pilot Susi Air Capt. Philip Mark Marthen in Paro District and those concerned were involved in burning the plane and taking the pilot hostage, but were separated from Egianus’ group (who is currently holding the pilot hostage),” said Kasatgas Gakum Kombes Pol Era.
Apart from being involved in the crime, the suspect Y.L. is also a supplier of Logistics such as Bama, Firearms and Ammunition and has hundreds of personal ammunition which he stores in Kali Simal.
Seeing the criminal acts committed, the security forces in the Papua region continue to increase their vigilance by implementing Smart Apporch to free the Pilot.
