Timika – A meeting of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), held at the Mimika Regional House of Representatives (DPRK) multipurpose room on Wednesday (August 2, 2026), resulted in a shared commitment to strengthen security management in the Mimika region.
Mimika Regent Johannes Rettob emphasized that the Regency Government, together with the DPRK and the TNI-Polri (military and police), would take concrete steps to maintain security stability.
“We came today simply to ask for the DPR’s support so that the measures the government and security forces intend to take can be implemented with everyone’s backing,” he said.
When asked about budgetary support, Regent John Rettob affirmed the Mimika Regency Government’s commitment to allocating funds to support intensive security operations.
“I have always provided that support. We are always ready with the budget,” Rettob asserted.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of synergy among the DPRK, the local government, the TNI-Polri, and community leaders in seeking long-term solutions. Forkopimda is committed not only to resolving immediate conflicts but also to fostering peace through a new paradigm within the community.
