Papua- Chairman of the Jayawijaya Traditional Institution (LMA) Herman Doga invited the community to respect each other’s differences, especially in determining who the leadership candidate will be in the regional elections to be held in November 2024.
“Every citizen has the right to make their choice, and we as citizens must respect it, without interference and so on,” said Herman Doga.
Herman Doga invites the public to make the 2024 regional elections a success while maintaining security, to ensure peaceful regional elections.
“Peace is not only the task of security forces, but security is the responsibility of all of us as citizens,” he stressed.
In the midst of many issues being spread by unbalanced individuals on social media, Herman Doga hopes that the public can be wiser in responding to these issues.
“Don’t be easily provoked, be wise in responding to issues circulating on social media,” he explained.
Herman asked the security forces to take firm action against certain individuals or groups who want to thwart the regional elections.
“We hope that individuals who want to thwart the regional elections will be deterred, because what is often said in the name of the Papuan people is not true. “The Papuan people want change,” he stressed.
