Jayapura- The Cartenz 2024 Peace Ops Task Force received appreciation and praise for its work in successfully securing the 2024 democratic party in 9 areas of the Cartenz_2024 Peace Operation area safely and smoothly.
A total of 9 Cartenz-2024 Peace operational areas cover 3 provinces, namely Papua Province, Papua Mountains and Central Papua Province consisting of Yahukimo, Mimika, Intan Jaya, Dogiyai, Puncak, Nduga, Mimika, Jayawijaya and Jayapura City Regencies.
This was conveyed by Poengky Indarti, S.H., LL.M., as a member of the Kompolnas Team during the Kompolnas working visit to the Papua Regional Police, Wednesday (3/4).
Poengky admitted that the role of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force in securing the election in February 2024 was very good, and that the Cartenz Peace Operation also upheld human rights.
“The procedures carried out by this Task Force are correct. The members who were deployed in 9 Operational Areas apart from being assigned to carry out law enforcement against armed criminal groups (KKB) and Political Criminal Groups (KKP) were also successful in securing the running of the democratic party or the general election of president and vice president by good so that there has been no interference from the KKB and KKP since the election took place.
“I appreciate this because the security carried out by the Cartenz Peace Operation in assisting the Papuan Police in the 2024 Election in the 9 Cartenz Peace Operation areas is very appropriate.
“I hope that in the future this operation can be more and continue to move in providing security guarantees for the Papuan people.
Apart from that, the Head of Peace Operations Cartenz -2024., Police Commissioner. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, when confirmed, said that the Cartenz Peace Ops Task Force -2024 at the moment of the democratic party had taken various steps to ensure security in the 9 Cartenz Peace Operation areas so that the elections could run smoothly.
Head of Ops Damai Cartenz again explained that compared to the 2019 election where there was an increase in actions of 19 people, 28 people died and 17 people were seriously injured, in the 2024 election there will be no significant disturbances in Papua.
“We have taken security measures to assist the Papua Regional Police in securing the 2024 elections in 9 Peace Operation areas and the result was that there were no security disturbances from the KKB and KKP from the time the election took place until it was finished.
He added that this is also the role of the community in helping security forces to maintain security in Papua, especially in the 9 areas of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation
