JAYAPURA \u2013 Chairman of the Nusantara Communication Forum, Albert A. Modouw, S.H., has expressed his appreciation to the Damai Cartenz-2026 Task Force and the Indonesian Police for successfully apprehending an individual listed as a wanted person (DPO) who is suspected of involvement in the shooting of a PT Freeport Indonesia employee in Mimika Regency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Albert conveyed his appreciation in Jayapura City on Friday (October 30, 2026). He described the law enforcement operation as an important step toward uncovering criminal acts while maintaining security and stability throughout Papua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Albert, the resolution of this case demonstrates the security forces’ commitment to following up on various acts of violence that have occurred in Papua. He expressed hope that such efforts would continue to be carried out professionally, transparently, and responsibly, while upholding applicable laws and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to the Damai Cartenz-2026 Task Force and all members of the Indonesian Police for their law enforcement efforts, particularly in apprehending the wanted individual in the shooting case involving a PT Freeport Indonesia employee in Mimika Regency. We support the authorities’ efforts to investigate and resolve this case so that all parties involved can be held accountable in accordance with the applicable laws,” Albert stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also called on all people in Papua to support the security forces’ efforts to maintain a safe and peaceful environment. He emphasized that the public should be more discerning when receiving information, avoid being easily provoked by unverified reports, and refrain from spreading information that could potentially create public anxiety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, Albert delivered a special message to Papua’s younger generation, urging them to prioritize peace, preserve brotherhood, and resolve every issue through legal channels and dialogue. He stressed that violence is not the way to pursue a better future for Papua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“To the young generation of Papua, let us prioritize peace and preserve our sense of brotherhood. Do not make violence a means of resolving problems. Papua’s future lies in the hands of a younger generation that is committed to development, unity, and making positive contributions to society,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, Albert encouraged all elements of society to work together to maintain security and peace throughout Papua. He noted that a safe and stable environment is a shared necessity, ensuring that children can study peacefully, communities can work comfortably, and young people have the opportunity to pursue a brighter future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We extend our gratitude to the Damai Cartenz-2026 Task Force and all members of the Indonesian Police who continue to work tirelessly to maintain security throughout Papua. Papua is our shared home, and we must protect it by strengthening brotherhood, respecting one another, and prioritizing peace.
