JAYAPURA, PAPUA – The understanding of electricity needs to be introduced to the younger generation from an early age, not only related to how electric energy works, but also its safe utilization in daily life. This was done by PT PLN (Persero) the Parent Unit of Papua and West Papua Region through educational activities for Level Up Learning Center Jayapura students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The educational activity took place on Friday (9\/25\/2026) and was attended by the students of the tutoring institution Level Up Learning Center Jayapura. In that activity, PLN provides an understanding of the electrical system as well as introducing various services that can be used by the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Communication Manager and TJSL PLN UIW Papua and West Papua, Irfan Djabar, in a written statement to the media, Tuesday (29\/9\/2026), said that the education is part of PLN’s efforts to introduce the world of electricity to the younger generation with an approach that is closer to their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Through this activity, we want to give students an overview of how the electrical system works, as well as how electricity can be used safely and wisely in daily life,” said Irfan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to introducing the electrical system, the students also get information about PLN Mobile, including the use of digital services for customer needs. Education also includes measures to prevent electrical hazards so that students can understand things that need to be considered when doing activities around installations and electrical equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These activities are an opportunity for students to see that the material learned in the classroom is related to various activities in daily life. Knowledge about energy, technology, and electrical safety can be applied through an understanding of the electrical systems they encounter every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Level Up Learning Center Jayapura which has been established since 2018 on Jalan Nuri, BTN Skyline Residence Housing, participated in the activity as part of the effort to provide an out-of-class learning experience to students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Level Up Learning Center Assistant Teacher Jayapura, Abd. Azis Khouw (30), appreciates the educational activities provided by PLN. According to him, the visit helps students understand electrical material through more concrete experiences and explanations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This activity is very good because children not only get theory in class, but also get a direct picture of how electricity is managed and utilized. The material conveyed by PLN is also packaged practically so that it is easier for students to understand,” said Abd. Azis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to him, educational activities like this can broaden students’ horizons regarding various fields of work and technology that they may only know through learning at school or tutoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On that occasion, PLN also introduced the challenge of managing electricity infrastructure in Papua. The students are invited to understand that the provision of electricity requires a system, infrastructure, human resources, and sustainable management so that energy can be distributed to the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not only the current electricity condition, the students are also introduced to the PLN steps in dealing with the energy transition period towards the use of cleaner energy. This is part of the effort to introduce energy issues to the younger generation more widely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through this activity, PLN hopes that the knowledge gained by the students can be applied in daily life, especially in using electricity safely, wisely, and responsibly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Electricity education for the younger generation is also expected to increase awareness that electric energy is an important part of people’s lives as well as needs to be maintained.
