Wamena – The Papua Mountains MSME Festival is expanding market access for 52 indigenous Papuan (OAP) micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Jayawijaya Regency, enabling them to increase their income and encourage the downstreaming of superior regional products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Head of the Papua Mountains Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Agency (DPMPTSP), Suryani Yigibalom, stated in Wamena on Friday that MSMEs will have access to market agricultural products and handicrafts through the Papua Mountains MSME Festival, which will take place on July 9-10, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We are providing opportunities for indigenous Papuan MSMEs participating in the 2026 MSME Festival in Jayawijaya. We hope this support will bring about changes in improving their economy,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Yigibalom, opening marketing access is part of the regional government’s efforts to overcome economic isolation and expand business opportunities for local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This effort involves synergy between three key elements of development in Mountainous Papua: traditional customs, the church, and the government, to encourage communities to be more productive and develop the region’s economic potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Suryani stated that the MSME Festival is not only intended as a platform for product promotion, but also as a platform for collaboration between the government, MSME entrepreneurs, investors, and the community in building a regional business ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We hope this festival will become a platform for collaboration and innovation to strengthen MSMEs, expand markets, and attract investors to Mountainous Papua, leading to a prosperous society,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Mountainous Papua DPMPTSP, she explained, plays a role in encouraging economic transformation and increasing regional investment, while other regional government agencies provide support based on their respective sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This cross-sectoral collaboration is expected to strengthen the processing of superior products so that local agricultural products and crafts are not limited to primary sales but can be developed into value-added products with a broader market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Suryani, strengthening local MSMEs is also a crucial part of building a more advanced and competitive economic growth in Mountainous Papua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 2026 MSME Festival is the first event held during the definitive leadership of the Governor and Deputy Governor of Mountainous Papua and is part of the implementation of the regional development vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The MSME Festival is an implementation of the vision and mission of the Governor and Deputy Governor of Mountainous Papua to create a competitive, religious, synergistic, innovative, comfortable, safe, and peaceful province supported by traditional communities, the church, and the government,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Going forward, the DPMPTSP aims for this MSME marketing and collaboration space to reach entrepreneurs from all eight regencies in Mountainous Papua, showcasing their respective products and potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
