The Head Of Public Relation of Operation Peace Cartenz 2026, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, when interviewed by the media, stated that in the incident, the Rajawali Mambri Task Force and the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 took firm and measured action, resulting in one KKB member, Hurbianus Mirip, being killed. He was known to be on the wanted list (DPO) and was allegedly involved in a number of violent incidents in the Central Papua region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHurbianus Mirip was a member of KKB Kodap III D Dulla who had been on the wanted list since 2025 for his alleged involvement in various armed violent acts in Nabire and Paniai,\u201d said the Head Of Public Relation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Commissioner Yusuf further explained that Hurbianus Mirip was allegedly involved in the killing of two Brimob personnel on August 13, 2025, which was accompanied by the seizure of two AK-101 rifles. In addition, the group was also suspected of carrying out shootings targeting civilians and security personnel in the Kali Semen area on October 17, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The group was also recorded to have carried out road blockades along the Nabire\u2013Paniai Trans Road at KM 58 on October 20, 2025, and was involved in a firefight with security forces in the Bukit Doa area on November 27, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, the group allegedly attacked a TNI security post in the PT Kristalin area on February 21, 2026, resulting in the deaths of one TNI personnel and one civilian, as well as the seizure of three firearms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to armed violence, the group was also suspected of being involved in the assault of a police officer, BRIPDA Kanza A. Mampioper, which occurred at Enarotali Market (old PLN area), Paniai Regency. In the incident, the victim suffered injuries to the right chest, a laceration on the back of the head, and injuries to the right palm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, emphasized that security forces will continue their efforts to maintain stability in Papua from various threats posed by armed groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 together with the Rajawali Mambri Task Force will continue to safeguard the community and ensure the situation remains conducive from various acts of violence carried out by armed groups,\u201d said Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, urged the public to remain calm and not be easily influenced by unverified information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe call on all members of the public to help maintain public security and order so that it remains safe and conducive in Central Papua Province, especially in Nabire Regency, and to immediately report to authorities if they are aware of any suspicious activities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
