Jayapura — The Papua Provincial Government continues to strengthen healthcare services for the public. This commitment was marked by the official launch of audiometry services at Jayapura Regional General Hospital (RSUD Jayapura) by the Governor of Papua.

The introduction of audiometry services represents a strategic step in enhancing hearing examination services and supporting early detection of hearing disorders among children, adults, and the elderly. The service is expected to provide easier access for the people of Papua to more comprehensive healthcare.

In his remarks, the Governor of Papua stated that healthcare services must continue to evolve in line with community needs. With audiometry services now available at RSUD Jayapura, residents can access hearing examinations more closely, quickly, and affordably, while reducing the need for referrals outside the region.

The management of RSUD Jayapura confirmed that the audiometry service is supported by professional medical personnel and adequate medical equipment. The service will also be integrated with Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) services and other healthcare programs.

The Papua Provincial Government hopes that the availability of audiometry services at RSUD Jayapura will contribute to improving public health standards and become part of efforts to strengthen an equitable and sustainable healthcare system across Papua.
