“From the investigation carried out, the suspected motive of the attack on civilians, including the robbery case that occurred on Saturday night (16\/10), is related to the efforts of KKB and its sympathizers to make residents in Yahukimo Regency restless,” said Head of Operation Peace Cartenz in Jayapura, Monday (10\/20\/2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is known, in the last two weeks, a brutal attack was carried out by the group against the civil society in Dekai District. The first victim, Anhy Armyanti (40), was reported dead due to being abused on Jalan Sosial, Dekai District, on Saturday night (18\/10). Meanwhile, previously, on Tuesday night (14\/10), the victim Bahar bin Saleh (55) also died after being attacked in the courtyard of the GIDI Siloam Church, Jalan Poros Logpon Kilometer 4, Dekai District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brigadier General of Police Faizal emphasized that the security forces will not stay silent in the face of armed violence that targets the civil society. “We will not allow armed violence against the civil society to continue to occur. The apparatus will increase patrols, guarding, and law enforcement in a measurable way so that the community feels safe and protected,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Head of Operation Peace Cartenz also said that the security ranks continue to tighten security in the Yahukimo area to maintain the stability of the Kamtibmas to remain conducive. He emphasized, law enforcement will be carried out professionally and measured according to the procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz urges the public to remain calm, not to be provoked by misleading issues, and immediately report to the security forces if they find suspicious activity in the surrounding area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
