Jayapura, Papua \u2014 A prominent religious figure from Papua Province, Rev. Petrus Bonyadone, M.Th., strongly condemned the armed criminal group (KKB) responsible for the recent attack in Yahukimo Regency, Highland Papua, which resulted in the death of a local Papuan teacher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs a religious leader, I firmly condemn the inhumane actions of the KKB in Yahukimo that led to the death of one of our own Papuan teachers,\u201d said Rev. Bonyadone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He urged the national police to conduct a thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice. As a nation governed by law, he emphasized, those responsible must face fair but firm legal consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhoever committed this act must be prosecuted according to the law, so that justice can truly prevail in this country,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rev. Bonyadone also called on the government to make the resolution of KKB-related violence a top national priority, stressing the state\u2019s obligation to ensure peace and safety for all communities in Papua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLet us come together to reflect on this issue and find a lasting solution that brings comfort and enduring peace to the Land of Papua. I believe our community leaders are already striving for this within their capacities,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The pastor further urged the public not to be swayed by false information or online hoaxes that could inflame tensions. He reminded citizens to verify the accuracy of news circulating on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI hope this tragic incident in Yahukimo, which cost the life of a teacher, will be the last. Ordinary people working hard to make a living in Papua must no longer become victims. Human values are paramount \u2014 there should be no more violence against our people,\u201d Rev. Bonyadone emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Expressing deep sorrow and concern over the tragedy, he reiterated that all religious and youth leaders share a common hope for lasting peace and stability in Papua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
