The case was triggered by a love affair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chief of Mimika Baru Police, Police Adjunct Commissioner (AKP) Putut Yudha Pratama, explained that YH was jealous after learning that his former girlfriend, identified as M, was in a relationship with the victim.<br>\u201cThe motive was a romantic relationship,\u201d AKP Putut stated during a press conference at the Mimika Baru Police headquarters on Monday (September 22, 2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He further added that the victim and witness M were only dating and had no formal marital bond. \u201cThey were just in a relationship, not officially bound. The suspect himself was the ex-boyfriend of witness M,\u201d he clarified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to AKP Putut, the suspect was arrested on Sunday morning at around 07:15 a.m. WIT without resistance.
