The arrest took place on Sunday night (August 24, 2025) in the Hawaii area of Sentani, Jayapura Regency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jayapura Police Criminal Investigation Unit Chief, <strong>AKP Alamsyah Ali<\/strong>, said the case originated from RGD\u2019s post in a Facebook group under the account name <em>Gad Dimara<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIn his post, the suspect wrote statements offensive to Muslims by insulting Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), while also referring to Christian congregations as \u2018devil\u2019s followers.\u2019 Based on public reports, we immediately moved to secure the suspect,\u201d Alamsyah explained on Monday (August 25, 2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">RGD has been charged under <strong>Article 28 (2) in conjunction with Article 45 (2) of Indonesia\u2019s Information and Electronic Transactions Law (UU ITE)<\/strong>, carrying a maximum penalty of six years in prison and a fine of up to IDR 1 billion (approx. USD 65,000).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the arrest, police filed an official report and conducted preliminary questioning before transferring the case to the Papua Regional Police Cyber Directorate for further investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During interrogation, RGD admitted his actions were triggered by anger after receiving a video from an individual identified as <strong>Putri Doyo<\/strong>. However, investigators clarified that Putri Doyo is not considered a suspect in the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe suspect realized his actions were wrong, but the post was still made deliberately.
