Papua Teangah \u2013 On Tuesday (August 12, 2025), hundreds of residents of Nabire gathered at the starting line for a 10-kilometer running event organized to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The race began at the Old Nabire Airport, then traversed a route passing through RSUD Nabire, and concluded at the finish area, symbolizing community solidarity in celebrating this historic day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This event was a collaboration of Central Papua Province government and carried the theme \u201cRunning Together, Recover Faster, Rise Stronger,\u201d which reflects the spirit of unity and efforts toward post-pandemic recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Central Papua Governor Meki Nawipa stated that the 10K run aimed to foster nationalism, strengthen brotherhood, and encourage the community to adopt a healthy lifestyle through sports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWith 600 participants from various backgrounds, this shows the high enthusiasm of the people in welcoming Independence Day,\u201d Nawipa said as he released the runners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also reminded all participants to uphold sportsmanship, respect fellow runners, and comply with the organizers\u2019 regulations to ensure smooth and safe proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nawipa also expressed appreciation to the organizing committee, sponsors such as Bank Papua and Aquavit, as well as security personnel and medical staff supporting the event\u2019s success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
