Wamena, Highland Papua \u2014 As part of supporting the National Food Self-Sufficiency Program, the Wamena sector of the Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 Task Force carried out security measures for the Simultaneous Corn Planting activity for the third quarter of 2025, held in Wouma District, Jayawijaya Regency. A total of seven personnel led by Iptu Steve Antony Revo Sumanti, S.Tr.K., were deployed to join personnel from Jayawijaya Police and Papua Mobile Brigade Unit to ensure a safe and conducive environment during the activity, Wednesday (July 9, 2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The security operation began at 12:30 PM WIT with a briefing and consolidation at the Jayawijaya Police Station. The team then moved to the farmland in Wouma District to establish a security perimeter around the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, M.H., M.Si., accompanied by Deputy Head of Operation, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., expressed appreciation for the field operation that proceeded safely and in a controlled manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe security for this corn planting activity is a tangible form of the National Police\u2019s support for national food resilience. Operation Peace Cartenz Task Force is present not only for law enforcement purposes, but also as part of a solution for the people of Papua,\u201d said Brigadier General of Police Faizal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This security measure was also carried out in response to intelligence indicating movements by the armed criminal group (KKB) led by Egianus Kogoya, who is suspected of planning actions in the Wamena area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Consolidation and on-call standby continue to be carried out by all personnel to anticipate any potential security disturbances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Head of Public Relation of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Chief Commissioner of Police Dr. Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., urged the public to remain calm and maintain synergy with security forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe encourage all residents of Jayawijaya, especially in Wamena, to stay calm and support the National Police\u2019s efforts to safeguard security stability. Please report immediately if you see or are aware of any suspicious activity in your surroundings,\u201d appealed Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
