Puncak, Papua \u2014 The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Kalenak Murib once again carried out a brutal attack on civilians in Lambera Village, Yugumoak District, Puncak Regency. The heinous act, which took place on Wednesday (June 18, 2025) at around 09:00 AM WIT, resulted in three civilian deaths, four injuries, and the burning of at least 11 traditional Papuan honai houses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A joint team consisting of personnel from the Sinak Police Sector and the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 immediately responded to the incident, ensuring the safety of survivors and collecting witness testimonies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to eyewitnesses, the barbaric attack was personally motivated. Kalenak Murib allegedly lost control after discovering that his third wife had been having an affair with one of his own men, identified as Minanggen Wijangge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was reported that Kalenak Murib and 23 of his armed followers entered Lambera Village on Tuesday (June 17, 2025) at around 04:00 PM WIT, carrying at least four long-barreled firearms. In the aftermath of the incident, the majority of Lambera residents have fled to safer areas in Megeabume District and Sinak District to seek refuge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The victims injured in the attack are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anis Tabuni (gunshot wound to the left arm)
Amote Tabuni (head injury)
Perdus Tabuni (ricochet wound to the leg)

The Head of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., condemned the attack as a crime against humanity that cannot be tolerated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This is a barbaric act targeting innocent civilians. We will not stay silent. Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz will continue to pursue and firmly act against the perpetrators in accordance with the law,” said Brig. Gen. Pol. Faizal.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Operation, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., urged the public to remain calm and trust law enforcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe urge all citizens to stay calm and place their full trust in the authorities to handle this case,\u201d said Chief Comm. Pol. Yusuf.
