One of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) fostered by People’s Bank of Indonesia (BRI), Papua Global Spices from Fakfak, Papua, has successfully entered the international market through various exhibitions and empowerment programs initiated by BRI. Papua Global Spices\u2019 participation in these exhibitions has opened up greater opportunities for other UMKM to grow. By joining these events, they have gained access to potential buyers who could help scale up their business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an agent of development, BRI continues to build a comprehensive empowerment ecosystem through programs such as Klasterku Hidupku, Rumah BUMN, and LinkUMKM. As of the end of 2024, BRI has nurtured more than 38,574 business clusters, reaching over 433,000 UMKM entrepreneurs through 54 Rumah BUMN (State-Owned Enterprises Houses) and connecting 10.6 million users through the LinkUMKM platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, through the Ultra Micro Holding, which consists of People’s Bank of Indonesia (BRI), Pegadaian, and Madani National Capital (PNM), integrated financial services have been able to serve more than 183 million savings customers and 35.9 million borrowers, with total credit disbursement reaching IDR 626.6 trillion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regarding the success of Papua Global Spices, BRI\u2019s Director of Micro Business, Supari, stated that this achievement highlights the immense potential of Indonesian small businesses to compete on the international stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe success of UMKM in entering the global market demonstrates that Indonesian small business entrepreneurs have great potential to compete internationally. BRI will continue to provide support, both in terms of financing and mentorship, to help more UMKM level up,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, for UMKM entrepreneurs aspiring to achieve success, the founder of Papua Global Spices emphasized three key principles: hard work, courage to take bold steps, and honesty.
