Jayapura, March 8, 2025 \u2013 A weapons and ammunition smuggling attempt to supply the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Puncak Jaya has been successfully thwarted by the Damai Cartenz-2025 Task Force in collaboration with the Papua Police. The operation led to the arrest of the main suspect, Yuni Enumbi, 29 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The surveillance operation, which took place from March 1 to 7, 2025, uncovered the movement of weapons from Jayapura to Puncak Jaya. Based on intelligence information, these weapons were intended to be delivered to the KKB under the leadership of Lerimayu Telengen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yuni Enumbi was arrested on March 6, 2025, by the Damai Cartenz-2025 Task Force team at KM 76, Keerom Regency. In addition to Yuni, two other individuals, Yudhi Kalalo (a truck driver) and Matius Payokwa (a helper), were also detained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the operation, several items were seized, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 2 long-barrel firearms (unassembled)
\u2022 4 G2 Pindad pistols
\u2022 632 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition
\u2022 250 rounds of 9 mm ammunition
\u2022 1 unassembled air rifle
\u2022 1 laser pointer with mounting
\u2022 1 telescope with a silencer
\u2022 1 brown wooden stock
\u2022 1 barrel and air rifle tube<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other Items:
\u2022 1 unit of air compressor labeled \u201cUnited Waran Biru\u201d (used for storing weapons)
\u2022 1 Vivo Y19S smartphone
\u2022 1 pump and 1 air bag
\u2022 1 T-shaped key and 1 portable grinder kit
\u2022 Several bags, including an air rifle bag and a sling bag containing personal identification and ATM cards<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cash:
\u2022 IDR 369,600,000 (Three hundred sixty-nine million six hundred thousand rupiahs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Suspect Confessions and Further Investigation
During questioning, Yuni Enumbi confessed that the weapons were purchased for IDR 1.3 billion from outside Papua and were to be delivered to the KKB in Puncak Jaya. Meanwhile, the driver and helper who were detained claimed they were unaware of the contents of their cargo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Public Relations Officer of Damai Cartenz-2025, Kombes Pol Yusuf Sutejo, emphasized that the operation is still under further investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis success is not the end of the operation but rather the beginning of a deeper investigation. We will continue to trace the origins of these weapons and identify all parties involved,\u201d said Kombes Yusuf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the Head of Operations for Damai Cartenz-2025, Brig. Gen. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, praised the team\u2019s hard work in stopping the smuggling attempt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThanks to the team\u2019s efforts, we successfully thwarted the smuggling of various types of weapons and ammunition that were intended to be supplied to the KKB in Puncak Jaya,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
