Jayapura, Papua\u2013 The Cartenz Peace Task Force-2025 successfully captured a fugitive from the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Sentani, Jayapura, on Friday, January 31, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fugitive apprehended was Yantis Murib, also known as Nosin Murib, a member of an armed group under the command of Jeki Murib, also known as Papuanus or Kasuari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Head of the Cartenz Peace Task Force-2025 Operations, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., confirmed that Yantis Murib had long been a target for authorities due to his involvement in several violent acts in Papua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe is from Pinggil\/Eronggobak Village, Puncak Regency, and has a long criminal record,\u201d said Brigadier General Faizal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the arrest operation, authorities also seized several items carried by Yantis Murib, including an identification card, wallet, plane ticket, beaded necklace, noken bag, and cash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Further investigation revealed that Yantis Murib was involved in a shooting incident against civilians in Ilaga in 2024, which resulted in a victim named Suherman sustaining a gunshot wound to his leg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe was the motorcycle rider and was carrying a revolver during the incident,\u201d Brigadier General Faizal explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Cartenz Peace Task Force-2025, Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., urged the public to maintain a conducive situation in Papua and promptly report any security disturbances to the authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
