{"id":20984,"date":"2024-07-22T23:50:10","date_gmt":"2024-07-22T14:50:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.suaranewspapua.com\/?p=20984"},"modified":"2024-07-22T23:50:10","modified_gmt":"2024-07-22T14:50:10","slug":"overcoming-kkb-government-asked-to-optimize-socio-cultural-approach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/suaranewspapua.com\/index.php\/2024\/07\/22\/overcoming-kkb-government-asked-to-optimize-socio-cultural-approach\/","title":{"rendered":"Overcoming KKB, Government Asked to Optimize Socio-Cultural Approach"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mimika &#8211;<\/strong> Chairman of Commission I DPR RI Meutya Hafid believes that the Government needs to optimize a socio-cultural approach in dealing with the increasingly anarchic actions of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe government needs to reopen dialogues with the KKB group to find a peaceful solution. &#8220;Inclusive and transparent negotiations can help reduce tensions,&#8221; said Meutya in a statement received in Jakarta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He assessed that investment in infrastructure development, education and community welfare could help reduce security instability in Papua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regarding this matter, he said that Commission I of the DPR appreciated the development that the Government had carried out in Papua quickly, quickly and significantly over the last 10 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Such development steps need to be continued to support the Papuan people,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, Meutya asked the Government to focus on resolving the conflict and restoring stability in Papua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We are concerned about the incessant KKB actions which have recently become more frequent. &#8220;We ask the Government to immediately take concrete steps and focus on conflict resolution and security stability in Papua,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He asked the TNI-Polri officers to be able to overcome the security disturbances that occurred in Papua, because the security of the local community is a top priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe want to ensure the presence of security forces to protect civilians in order to overcome security threats. &#8220;Strengthening the presence of the TNI and Polri in the area is very important,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meutya also criticized the KKB&#8217;s action of burning down the school building.
