Nabire Deputy Regent Urges Community and Security Forces to Work Together to Maintain Public Order

NABIRE – Nabire Deputy Regent Burhanuddin Pawennari has called on all elements of society to work together in maintaining security and public order (Kamtibmas) in Nabire Regency. He emphasized that a conducive security situation is a shared responsibility requiring the active participation of the government, security forces, community leaders, and residents.

Burhanuddin said that, so far, community activities across Nabire Regency have generally continued safely, orderly, and smoothly. However, several social issues remain a concern, including the potential for social conflict and matters related to law enforcement.

“Overall, community activities in Nabire Regency remain safe, smooth, and orderly. Nevertheless, we continue to face several challenges, including social conflicts and law enforcement issues that need to be addressed together,” he said.

He stressed that maintaining a stable and secure environment should begin at the community level. Therefore, residents are encouraged not to rely solely on security personnel, but also to play an active role in maintaining security within their respective neighborhoods and to establish good communication when dealing with issues that could potentially disrupt public order.

As part of the local government, Burhanuddin also urged all regional government agencies that interact directly with the public to continue improving the quality of their services. He said the presence of the government among the community should provide a sense of safety and comfort while ensuring that public needs are properly addressed.

“Regional government agencies that go directly into the field and interact with the community are expected to provide the best possible services. The government’s presence must truly be felt by the people so that they feel safe, comfortable, and satisfied when accessing public services,” he explained.

In addition to security and public services, Burhanuddin reminded all Civil Servants (ASN) within the Nabire Regency Government to maintain professionalism in carrying out their duties.

He stressed that civil servants must uphold political neutrality, refrain from involvement in practical politics, and avoid spreading unverified information or false news that could cause public concern.

“I urge all civil servants within the Nabire Regency Government to remain focused on carrying out their respective duties and responsibilities, uphold neutrality, refrain from being influenced by practical politics, and not spread hoaxes,” he concluded.
