Joint Patrol and Night Raid in Nabire, Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force 2026 Secures Sharp Weapon

Nabire, Central Papua – In an effort to maintain public security and order (kamtibmas) in a safe and conducive condition, joint personnel from the Nabire Regional Police and the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force 2026 conducted patrols and vehicle inspections at several crime-prone locations across Nabire City on Thursday night (May 28, 2026).

The activity, which began at 9:00 PM WIT, was focused on anticipating robbery and mugging incidents, the possession of sharp weapons, and various forms of criminal activity that could potentially disrupt public security during nighttime hours. In addition, the patrols and inspections were aimed at narrowing and limiting the movement space of armed criminal groups (KKB) in Nabire Regency that might attempt to operate at night, thereby ensuring that the security situation remains stable and that community activities can continue safely.

During the operation, joint personnel inspected both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles passing through several strategic points. As a result of the inspections, officers successfully secured one sharp weapon that was discovered during a vehicle check. The evidence was subsequently confiscated for further investigation by the police.

The Head of Cartenz Peace Operation 2026, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that night patrols and raids are preventive measures continuously carried out to reduce crime rates and create a sense of security within the community.

“Routine patrols and inspections are part of preventive efforts against various potential security disturbances. The presence of personnel in the field is expected to provide protection to the community while also limiting the movement of criminals who may threaten public security stability,” said Inspector General Faizal.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of Cartenz Peace Operation 2026, Senior Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., stressed the importance of synergy and the active presence of security personnel within the community as a tangible form of service and protection.

“We continue to prioritize preventive measures through integrated patrols and inspections. In addition to preventing criminal acts, these activities are intended to build a sense of security and strengthen public trust in security forces who are present to serve and protect the community,” stated Commissioner Adarma.

Throughout the activity, the situation in Nabire City remained safe and conducive. The public also responded positively to the presence of security personnel actively conducting patrols and monitoring in the field.

The patrol and inspection activities concluded at 10:00 PM WIT after all personnel returned to Nabire Regional Police Headquarters for a final briefing and evaluation. Overall, the operation proceeded safely, orderly, and smoothly, reflecting the commitment of Cartenz Peace Operation 2026 to maintaining public security and order in Central Papua.
