Nabire – Joint personnel from the Nabire Police Resort (Polres Nabire) and the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force conducted a joint patrol in several areas considered vulnerable to public security and order disturbances (kamtibmas) in Nabire on Friday (May 8).
The patrol was carried out as a preventive measure to anticipate potential criminal activities and maintain security stability in Nabire Regency, particularly in public activity centers and locations considered prone to security disturbances.
In addition to routine patrols, the joint personnel also provided security during a public watch party for a Persipura football match attended by local residents in Nabire. The security measures aimed to ensure the event proceeded safely, orderly, and peacefully.
During the patrol, the joint personnel also demonstrated a rapid humanitarian response to an emergency situation. While traveling to the Nabire Police Headquarters, officers encountered a resident who had been involved in a traffic accident.
The personnel immediately evacuated the victim and provided initial assistance before transporting the individual for further medical treatment.
Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation, Faizal Ramadhani, stated that the joint patrol activity was part of the security forces’ efforts to create a sense of safety within the community.
“This joint patrol is aimed at maintaining security stability in Papua, particularly in Nabire Regency. The presence of personnel in the field is expected to provide a sense of safety and comfort for the community,” he said.
He also emphasized that security personnel would continue to enhance preventive activities and humanitarian services to ensure the public security situation remains conducive.
Meanwhile, Deputy Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation, Adarma Sinaga, stated that the quick response shown by personnel toward the traffic accident victim reflected the commitment of security forces in serving the community.
“In addition to maintaining security, personnel in the field are also required to respond quickly to members of the public who need assistance. The evacuation and first aid provided by our personnel are forms of care and humanitarian service,” he said.
