Papuan Academic Praises Performance of Peace Operation Cartenz Task Force in Maintaining Security Stability

Jayapura — The efforts of the Peace Operation Cartenz Task Force in maintaining security conditions in Papua have once again received positive recognition. Various circles have assessed that the measures implemented by the Task Force have had a tangible impact on creating a safer and more conducive environment across the region.

Papuan academic Dr. Alfius Aninam, S.Th., M.Pd., stated that the presence of the Peace Operation Cartenz Task Force has played a significant role in suppressing the activities of armed criminal groups (KKB) that have long disturbed public order. He made the statement in Jayapura on Friday (December 19, 2025).

According to him, the firm yet proportionate law enforcement approach carried out by the Task Force has contributed to a stronger sense of security for Papuan communities in their daily activities. He noted that this situation reflects the state’s serious commitment to protecting all citizens in Papua.

Dr. Alfius also expressed his support for the Indonesian National Police (Polri), which continues to consistently carry out its duty to maintain security and public order. He emphasized that these efforts are part of the broader commitment to safeguarding the unity and integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia from Sabang to Merauke.

Furthermore, he urged the people of Papua not to be easily influenced by provocations from certain parties seeking to disrupt regional stability. He stressed the importance of collective awareness in avoiding unlawful actions in order to preserve lasting peace.

Ahead of the Christmas celebrations, Dr. Alfius called on all elements of society to strengthen unity and maintain a peaceful atmosphere, in line with the values of Christmas that emphasize love, peace, and joy.

“Peace Operation Cartenz has demonstrated concrete results. Support from all elements of society is essential so that a sense of safety and comfort in Papua can be continuously maintained,” he concluded.
