Keerom, Papua – Collaboration between Republic of Indonesia Police, Indonesia National Army and local government continues to be strengthened in supporting national food security. This is realized through the Situ Bagendit variety gogo rice harvest activity which took place in Woslay Village, Senggi District, Keerom Regency, on Thursday (8/28/2025).
The harvest was carried out on an area of 0.5 hectares owned by the residents of Community Order Security Development Agency Waley Village, Brigadier Fuji Cahyono. This activity was also attended by TNI personnel and representatives of the Papua Provincial Agricultural Service as a form of cross-sector synergy in supporting the welfare of the border community.
Head of Community Development Keerom Police, Iptu Budi Wahyono, delivered a message from Keerom Police Chief, AKBP Asto Budi Rahmantyo, S.I.K., which emphasized that the presence of the National Police in the activity is a real form of support for government programs.
“This harvest festival activity is one of the ways the National Police is present to support the government program in realizing sustainable food security, especially in border areas. With synergy with the TNI and the government, it is hoped that the community can feel the direct benefits,” said the Police Chief in a message conveyed by Iptu Budi.
In addition to supporting food security, this activity is also a place to strengthen the relationship between the security apparatus and the community. Through coaching programs such as those carried out by Brigpol Fuji Cahyono, border communities are given assistance and motivation to manage agricultural land more productively.
The involvement of Republic of Indonesia Police, Indonesia National Army and the Agricultural Service shows a joint commitment to strengthen food security in the Papuan border area. With a program like this, it is hoped that the community’s food independence will increase and can be an example for other villages in Keerom Regency.
