FKDM Mimika Appreciates the Success of Operation Peace Cartenz Completes Evacuation and Identification of Victims of KKB Cruelty

Mimika, Papua – Mimika community figure who also serves as the Secretary of the Student Council Communication Forum (FKDM) of Mimika Regency, Arnold Ronsumbre delivered an official statement full of empathy and hope in responding to the violence that occurred in the Papua region, especially in the Yahukimo Regency gold collection area.

In his statement, Arnold Ronsumbre expressed his gratitude to the government of the Republic of Indonesia, through the TNI-Polri apparatus, especially Operation Peace Cartenz, for the success in evacuating the victims from conflict-prone areas.

“I represent the people of Mimika and all elements who love peace to thank the TNI-Polri for their dedication in carrying out their duties. Violence in Papua is a human rights violation that cannot be tolerated,” said Arnold in his presentation, Saturday (19/4).

He also highlighted the importance of law enforcement against violent perpetrators. According to him, the incident that happened not only hurt the value of humanity, but also tarnished the image of Papua and Indonesia as a whole.

“We fully support the legal action against the individuals involved in these actions. This is a real violation of the human right to life. We cannot constantly allow violence to be a part of the lives of the Papuan people,” he said.

Furthermore, as a public figure and head of the paguyuban, Arnold Ronsumbre conveyed a moral appeal based on religious teachings so that all Papuan people should reject violent acts and not take the lives of others.

“In the Gospel, God forbids us to kill. So it is appropriate for all of us, especially armed groups, to stop the act of violence. Remember, every drop of blood that spills will be held accountable, both in this world and in the hereafter,” he said in a serious tone.

He also invited all Papuan people especially Timika to unite, maintain peace, and create a harmonious and conducive atmosphere, especially in the Amungme region and its surroundings.

“Timika is a barometer of Papuan peace. If Mimika is safe, then Papua will be peaceful. Let’s join hands to build an atmosphere of unity, not division,” he urged.

In closing, Arnold Ronsumbre again emphasized that conflict and violence will only leave wounds and tarnish the nation’s good name in the eyes of the world.

“Don’t let it be because of a few people, Indonesia’s name is tarnished in the eyes of the international community. Let’s take care of Papua so that it is no longer smeared with blood. We take care of this peace together,” he concluded.

This statement becomes an important voice from the grassroots, indicating the great hope of the local community for true peace and the establishment of justice in Papua.
