The Head of the Tolikara Regency Traditional Community Institution (LMA), Demir Kogoya, emphasized that security stability is the key to the success of the simultaneous regional elections to be held on November 27, 2024. In his statement, Demir invited all people in Tolikara Regency, especially in the Papua Mountains region, to maintain peace and security during the regional elections process.
“We appeal to all people in Tolikara Regency and Papua Mountains to maintain a safe and conducive situation. This is our responsibility as part of a great nation,” said Demir Kogoya.
He emphasized that the Tolikara Regency LMA fully supports the implementation of a safe and peaceful regional elections. Demir hopes that all stages of the regional elections will run smoothly, from the campaign to the vote counting, without any disruption or division that could harm the community.
“Security is very important for the smooth running of the regional elections. We believe that the active contribution of the community in creating a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere is very meaningful,” he added.
Demir also reminded the public to be careful of information that cannot be accounted for its truth. He emphasized the importance of avoiding the spread of news that can trigger conflict and division.
“Do not be easily provoked by news or information from unclear sources, because this can cause tension and threaten security stability,” said Demir.
He closed his statement by calling for collaboration between the community, security forces, and community leaders to ensure that the 2024 Pilkada runs successfully and produces the best leader for Tolikara Regency.
