KNPI Jayawijaya Urges the Community to Maintain Public Order and Order Ahead of the Simultaneous Regional Elections

Papua- The Indonesian National Youth Committee (KNPI) Jayawijaya Regency invites all elements of Jayawijaya and Mountain Papua society to maintain community safety and security (Kamtibmas) in moving towards the 2024 simultaneous regional elections.

This was conveyed by Iberanus Hilapok, Secretary of KNPI Jayawijaya in Wamena. According to him, Kamtibmas is conducive to ensuring that the regional elections run peacefully.

“During the ongoing regional elections, the KNPI Jayawijaya district appealed to the public to maintain security and social order in Jayawijaya district, mountainous Papua province,” Kayanya said.

Hilapok said that differences in political choices in a democratic party are something that is natural and normal, we must ensure that divisions do not occur as a result of choices.

“I, Iberanus Hilapok, Secretary of the Indonesian National Youth Committee, KNPI, Jayawijaya Regency, hope that the public will not be easily influenced, because political choices are normal, but we need to maintain division because of politics,” he said.

He said, Jayawijaya Regency as the Capital Province should be an example for peaceful regional elections. For this reason, he also hopes that the police will cooperate in order to create a conducive security and social order.

“We hope that the Republic of Indonesia Police, in this case the Jayawijaya Police, will cooperate so that during the regional elections, people carrying sharp tools in the city will immediately have them confiscated or restricted so that Jayawijaya district becomes an example for other districts,” he hoped.

Apart from that, KNPI also appealed to the public not to consume alcoholic beverages ahead of the 2024 regional elections.

“Apart from that, the KNPI also appeals to the public to reduce selling or consuming alcoholic beverages in the city, so that the regional election process can run safely, peacefully and comfortably,” concluded Iberanus Hilapok
